There Will Be Words is Orlando's first prose reading series, showcasing the best writers Florida has to offer on the second Tuesday of every month at Urban ReThink, 625 E. Central Boulevard in Thornton Park, from 6 to 8pm. The event is free.

How does this work?

Four writers each month receive ten minutes to read a work of fiction or non-fiction of their own creation. All of the writers work is published in an e-book that we sell for $5 as of June 2012. Contributors will receive 20% royalties for each copy sold, after whatever costs our distribution network takes out.

What I can submit?

Fiction and non-fiction between 1000-1500 words. Your piece may previously be published elsewhere. For new work, we retain First Electronic Rights. Once we publish your work, rights revert back to the author but we do ask to please, credit us if your work is published elsewhere. You also must be able to appear at the date you were selected for and read in front of an audience. What are you not looking for?

Typos, standard undergrad, graduate Creative Writing fare, poetry, fan fiction (unless it is ironic and an important part of your story), long winded cover letters (where you've been published before doesn't matter to me), people who don't do their research, wackness.
